We are currently looking for an experienced Product Owner wanting to move up in their career to be part of our newly formed team in Dublin, Ireland based at Dogpatch Labs in the CHQ building located in the heart of Digital Docklands. This is a fantastic opportunity for the right person to become part of the globally growing team right from the start.

The Ideal Candidate

The Product Owner will serve in the critical role for initial design, launch and ongoing refinement of an exciting software product in the automotive and trucking industry. You will guide the vision and definition of products. You will have a passion for developing a product which contributes significantly to the bottom-line. You are a person who can understand the product vision and translate that into clearly defined requirements and user stories for the development teams.  You will be working directly with software engineers and QA to deliver a world-class product.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the vision and definition of the product

  • Taking ownership of the product

  • Interface with multiple internal and external stakeholders to identify market opportunities and customer needs

  • Build, prune, maintain and prioritize the product backlog

  • Collaborate with the SCRUM team to define iteration content based on backlog priority and team sizing

  • Ensure user stories contain adequate detail and acceptance criteria for implementation

  • Accept user stories into the product baseline

  • Plan and coordinate software releases

  • Managing communication with product stakeholders (incl. QA and engineers)

  • Demonstrate new product features and functionality after each iteration

  • Closely observe industry trends

Requirements

  • 3+ years of recent hands-on experience in a full-time Product Owner or Product Manager role

  • 2+ years experience with web-based applications or consumer websites

  • 3+ years of experience in an Agile/SCRUM software development

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or IT subject, whilst not essential, would be beneficial or equivalent experience in a tech environment

  • Excellent written and verbal communication
